Youth Served - Enabling Access to Golf's Opportunities
UGABA's central mission focuses on providing access to junior golf initiatives and resources for under-served urban youth. Through first-hand experience, UBAGA leadership has seen the impacts and opportunities resulting from participation in the golfing community. The focus is not on creating new resources or initiatives, rather aggregating a network of existing resources that will serve to support the respective needs of the “whole person” represented in each junior golfer.
Examples of initiatives and resources with which UBAGA has relationships and facilitates access for identified junior golf candidates:
- Access to golf courses and practice facilities
- Certified instruction (PGA certified instruction, camps, clinics and academies)
- Access to mentors, coaches, personal trainers and club fitters
- Access to academic guidance and scholastic resources
- Exposure to the full spectrum of opportunities available within the golf industry (course management, course design, player management, equipment retail, etc.)
